Chrissy Foundation Promotes Menstrual Hygiene and Education in Eastern Ghana

As part of the Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG3), regarding” Good Health and Wellbeing”, Chrissy Foundation held an awareness campaign led by Representatives from the Medical Department to celebrate the 2024 year’s Menstrual Hygiene Day for students in Oyoko Methodist and St. Michael Junior High School situated in New -Juaben North Municipal of the Eastern Region of Ghana. One of our stakeholders, the National Commission for Civic Education ( NCCE) graced the occasion beautifully to encourage the children.

This activity form part of Chrissy Foundation’s mandate in  creating a Period friendly  World, making  menstruation a normal fact of life, empower menstruators to dismantle taboos and to increase access to age-appropriate menstrual health and hygiene education and safe sanitation facilities to ensure Girls do not miss School during Menstruation .

The campaign was very interactive, entertaining and educating all genders, including boys, about periods. About 200 Girls were then given free sanitary pads to support them in the next 3 Months. There are 1,500 more Girls we’re looking forward to support this year, our doors are always open for Sponsorship/Partnership.

We envisions  a future where no Girl misses school  for 4 to 5 days every month due to inaccessible menstrual materials, Where  every girl is empowered, confident, and equipped to pursue her dreams without fear or limitation.
We’re  geared towards Promoting menstrual hygiene to combat period poverty in Ghana.
